Wicomico at Home is a supportive program of neighbors supporting neighbors in Salisbury, MD. As part of the village movement happening all across the country, Wicomico at Home is an innovative program to connect members of our community for supportive services and community building.
Aging at Home but not Alone!
WHAT WE OFFER MEMBERS:
Wicomico at Home members benefit from a supportive community of friends and neighbors, helping members of our community safely age at home with a little support from others. Members are invited to provide what skills and abilities they have through volunteering, and are able to request services such as:
- transportation and ride-service.
- friendly calls and visits.
- light home repair or access to trusted contractors for home services.
- support navigating the aging process from volunteers and the professionals at MAC, Inc.
HOW WE OPERATE WITH VOLUNTEERS:
Wicomico at Home is a village of neighbors, and we rely on helpful neighbors with all skills, talents, and abilities to support one another. Volunteering for one neighbor may include driving someone to a doctors appointment or a weekly hair appointment - for another neighbor it may be writing birthday cards or making friendly phone calls to other members. We work with all of our members and volunteers to fit your service into your schedule and your abilities. We encourage all members to offer something to support the village! For those who are not in need of service and would only like to provide service as a volunteer, please view our Volunteers section of the website.
