Wicomico at Home connects neighbors

Wicomico at Home, a program of MAC Incorporated, is a program built on neighbors helping neighbors. All members are able to benefit from supportive neighbors volunteering to provide supportive services, build community, and offer transportation. 

The program began as a Community for Life program at MAC Inc. in 2019 to support older adults who wish to remain living in their homes, through transportation, home maintenance, advocacy, social engagement, and service navigation. Over the years, generous volunteers provided:

• Transportation services: door to door, round trip service to medical appointments, pharmacy, salons, grocery stores and more.
• Home maintenance: to assist you cross items off your “honey-do” list or find the right affordable vetted contractor to do the job.
• Service navigation: to provide connections to community activities and events.  
• Community building: friendly phone calls, visits, help with completing paperwork and navigating government agencies.

Wicomico at Home builds on this foundation to ensure neighbors in Wicomico County can enjoy independence and quality of life at home. All members are encouraged to spend time volunteering, offering what they are able to, when they are able to.

Wicomico at Home is a part of the national Village movement, and Village to Village network. The concept is growing nationwide to support the facilitation of neighbors helping neighbors. This village will support your efforts to remain healthy, safe, and independent to utilize local resources and to maintain social and community networks. Membership fees do apply, with opportunities to apply for fee reduction or waivers if eligible.
